SSC at GITEX Trade Show in Dubai

Serbian Software Cluster (SSC) exhibited at the GITEX Trade Show (19-23 October 2008, Dubai). SSC joined a group of Serbian exhibitors at the national booth, organized by Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA). SSC promoted its member companies, and their products and services to the GITEX participants, mainly from the GCC countries and Middle East. During this trade show SSC established contacts with over 30 organizations, and signed MoU with the Lebanese SoftShore Cluster (LSC).

Serbian Software Cluster (SSC) and the Lebanese SoftShore Cluster (LSC) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the GITEX Trade Fair 2008 in Dubai. The cooperation between two clusters will include:

  • Exchange of publications and information.
  • Support related to the market/business development.
  • Organisation of seminars, conferences and expositions.
  • Facilitation of contacts with government/regulatory bodies.
  • Exchange of professional experiences between clusters and members.

Activities of Serbian Software Cluster

Serbian Software Cluster ( SSC ) is Business Association established in February 2007 by nine Serbian private IT companies, two Faculties –  University of Belgrade and Intitute Mihailo Pupin. At the beginning of 2008 the SSC was ready to accept more members.

We are pleased to announce that on 12.06.2008 fifth managing board of SSC was held in Belgrade. Main theme was joining more members to Serbian Software Cluster. After companies introduction, new candidatures were accepted.

New accepted members of SSC are: PS Tech, IT-TV, University of Novi Sad - Faculty of Science.

PS Tech:

PSTech has 12 years lasting and on-going experience in software development and integration on Serbian and International market.

Over 60 full time employees with more than 375 years of life time engineering experience are currently working in PS Tech. Main areas of expertise are object oriented software development (Java and C++), Database design, Software testing (including test automation and performance test) and Integration of different commercial and open-source products.

IT-TV:

Founded in 2003, ITTV Production is an independent media production house that offers a wide variety of video services and is primarily oriented towards the IT market, as well as towards the needs of IT firms

University of Novi Sad - Faculty of Science:

Faculty of Sciences is an educational and scientific institution that provides teaching and research in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Matematics, Informatics, Geography, Tourism, and Environmental Protection at five departments:

IT Forum Established

Belgrade – On the initiative from the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, the IT Forum was established, whose purpose is to promote partnerships of the public and private sector for the development of the Serbian IT industry and telecommunications. Within the IT and telecommunications sector in Serbia there are about 1250 companies with 10.000 employees, which provide 2.23% of the GDP of Serbia, The productivity growth in 2007. was 37%, in comparison with 2006, which indicates that this branch of industry has an ever greater importance in the Serbian economy, not only by it’s share in the GDP, whereas one of the motivators of the economic growth and development.

The goal of the Forum is to enable a flow of exchange of information in between the public and private sector, identifying the problems in the software industry, defining concrete actions for resolving the problems, appointing the bearer, finding a way for overlooking and executing the planned activities

The members of the Forum are members of the Ministry of Telecommunications and IT society, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Science, Serbia’s Investment and Export Promotion Agency, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Electro technical Faculty of the University in Belgrade, Mihajlo Pupin Institute, Serbia Software cluster, Serbia society of software makers The Ministry of Economy and Regional development is coordinating the work of the Forum.
